Greene King launches worthy “Tub to Pub” scheme

Drop your plastic tubs at Greene King venues for recycling and raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support in Jan 2022

Tens of millions of plastic tubs produced to carry Christmas biscuits and sweets around the UK now have a better destination than landfill thanks to Greene King. The hospitality group is accepting donations of unwanted tubs across its pubs, hotels and restaurants. And the initiative runs throughout the month of January in 2022.

Collected tubs must be clean and formerly used to hold confectionary, biscuits or crackers. Tubs must also bear the 5/PP plastic logo.

Greene King is shredding donated tubs at a reprocessing centre from January 31 onwards. The plastic will be sold on to manufacturers in place of virgin plastics. And the initiative is ensuring all proceeds go on to the amazing Macmillan Cancer Support.

Have you filled all your tubs with amazing home-baked treats for the team to eat? If not, drop your unwanted plastic tubs at one of Greene King’s venues. More information can be found at tub2pub.co.uk
